Dec. 8th would have been Cashmere’s 25th birthday. Every year on or around her birthday she would visit different homeless shelters and donate gift bags filled with hygiene/toiletries. In helping to keep her memory alive, yesterday we provided The Salvation Army and Orlando Rescue Mission with 125 bags for women and 125 for the men. It was a very humbling experience. My heart goes out to the people as I listened to all of the stories of hardship. We never know what tomorrow may bring. This has been a very difficult year for so many people. I am learning to complain less and appreciate more.
Welcome to my blog
Hello, and welcome to my blog….
The purpose for my writing is to interact with our community and get ides on what we should do to stop the senseless violence in our communities. So many young women like Cashmere taken too soon. It starts with us. Let me know your thoughts and ides. I encourage each of us to be our best and do our best.
Staying safe..
There are many different ways to stay safe. Utilize today’s technology. Share your location with close family and friends. Always inform some where you are. If you are visiting a place you have never gone before take a friend with you. Do your research by checking for crime in the area. If meeting someone new perform background checks, check their social media etc. Consider the “red flags” often times they are so obvious. What are some other ways we can do to help ourselves and others stay safe?
